A note on the Projects section: The projects section also used to include a timeline feature. At the time, many people asked me about the history of projection design—also referred to in the UK as video design or media design—so I began contacting people and companies who had worked with live video or imagery in live theatre. I asked whether I could include their work in this small database. I had productive conversations with many of them, but those conversations rarely resulted in contributions.
The notable exceptions were Richard Pilbrow, who was happy to provide both information and images, and the theatre company Laterna Magika, co-founded by Josef Svoboda. That is why their work, and the work of their collaborators, features prominently. The other people included are mostly people I know personally—although I did once have dinner with Richard.
I hope there may still be interest in adding more productions, but that will rely on participation from others. Perhaps now that this is a Notion site, that will be easier. It certainly makes it easier for me to maintain.
