The projection design supports the immensely entertaining musical numbers, the audience's understanding of time and location, and generally enriches the visual language of the show with visual effects, sparkles and richly colored 3d set extensions. In addition, an elaborate sequence during which the protagonists are at first banished and eventually freed is accomplished via tight integration with scenery, lighting, sound and costume.
